I'm getting ready to buy some component speakers for my xB, and I just wanted to confirm the size. The set I'm looking at is a 6.5" speaker with tweeter. My local stereo guy said the tweet would go under my grills in the dash. Is there a tweet in there now, or a small speaker? I've got the money for practically my whole system if I don't buy rims, so I'd hate to blow a bunch of money on stuff that won't fit.

did mine about 2 weeks ago. replaced all factory locations with infinity. the front doors are 6.5 and the dash is a 4 inch speaker. you can mount the tweeter in the dash, but will need to fabricate something to hold it there. the rear is 5.25 coax.

there is a 2" tweeter in the dash. it looks like a regular speaker, but it is actually a tweeter. the door panels have 6" midrange speakers. so it acts like seperates. there is a small capacitor in the tweeter wiring to block the midrange and bass, so if you want more range you need to remove it or change the rating of the cap.

whya re there two numbers from both posts. One guy says tweeters in dash, the other says 4in speakers,

one says 6 in speakers, the other says 6.5's. can someone shed someone disect this cadaver and tell me what the truth is about all the speakers in an xB. Dash, Front doors, and Rear speakers. size, what type of speaker it is (coaxial, subwoofer, tweeter, and if they are special wired to restrict what its input is, and watts if possible)

For the XB, 6.5 for the front doors with spacers, 4 inch for the dash and 51/4 for the rears but have seen 6.5 with modification, check out www.elementaldesigns for some nice speakers and package deals.
