Default speakers buzzing

When I put a new jvc head unit in my tacoma, and then threw in 2 12's, the speakers would buzz and click at about a third the volume. Now I know I should replace them, but is this because the hu is too many watts? I know the xb's is 160, so when I put in the jvc and subs, will the speakers click and buzz too? Also, since the stock hu is 160 watts, will it sound okay if I leave it in?

They'll sound about the same as far as overall volume goes. A general rule is every time you double the power, you get an additional 3db... And 3db is barely noticable.

Also, for headunits the 160 watts they claim is a complete pipedream. Actual usable output without noticable distortion is probably around 15 x 4 give or take.

oh, as as for the clicking/buzzing that could be caused by a couple things. About the best advice I can give is when you install the amp, use good RCAs and keep them away from the powerwire and any mysterious factory boxes.

Don't forget to pick a close grounding spot. Sounds like you may have a bad ground (or too long of a ground wire). Also be careful how you hook up your amp remote turn-on lead. If you splice it into your Accessory wire it can also cause buzzing.

Default factory speakers can't keep up

I'm having the same problem. Just installed an amp and 10 inch sub under the passenger seat.

But it looks like the factory speakers can't keep up.

I found a pair of 6.5 JBL in my storage unit. Will those fit on the door side? And will that help solve the problem a bit?

They are JBL LC-S600.

Try upgrading you ground wires. It helped out when i had some notice able problems with my system. But try checking that your head unit case is touching a good ground point. That helped out a little bit then when i upgraded to bigger ground wires it helped out alot

which speakers buzz :?: ..if its the 4 speakers in the truck, most likely your running the power wires directly on top of the stock speaker wires, which are picking up all the noise and feedback from the amp wires...if its from the subs, your running the rcas along side or over the power wires...which gives you the same type of feedback only from the subs....also, as stated above, also check your ground and make sure it is secure and correct reference to ground.
