Default Starter Kill Wire Location

I spent 20 min. or so searching and got tired of mining through the posts so I thought I'd just ask. I've installed the alarm in my xB, took about three hours including locating the tools my son runs off with Everything went smooth, really prettty easy if you take your time and don't mind contorting in under the dash with sweat running into your eyes. The only thing I'm not sure of is which wire to cut in the ignition harness to wire in the start kill. I'm looking at two blacks and a black yellow, all are associated with the iginition/starter, but I'm not clear which is the correct one. Any help?

You need to test the black wires the wire that reads 12 volts only when the key is cranking the starter as soon asyou release the key and car is running the wire will drop 12 volts, the other black wire is your ignition wire

Thanks, all finshed now. Works like a dream. I was confused because the instructions from the dealer didn't differentiate between the "on" and the "crank position". In addition, the three wires were all of different size. One black was 18 gauge the other black was 22 gauge and the black/yellow was 16 gauge. Being a starter wire, I was pulled to the larger wires but I was wrong, it likely only activates a relay that then handles the load. For future reference, it is the 22 gauge black wire the last one I would have thought, that was the correct one.

Thanks for the help.
