Had a rain storm come out of nowhere, took a few minutes to get back to the open windowed car.
Started it up, closed the windows and when I started it up the next morning, POOF! the stereo didn't work.
The stereo itself did not get wet.
I have checked fuses, all seem fine.
Any idea what's up or what I might want to check before I spend the money to replace the stereo. $250 to get the stock radio. Pretty ridiculous.

I had issues with the stock unit on my 06 xB: when the car sat in the sun, especially on humid days, there would be no display for a while. Whatever was playing when I turned the car off continued when I started up again, but none of the buttons would work.
I wonder if the dampness is doing something similar in your car - get the whole thing dried and aired-out and see if the HU comes back to life.
BTW: I lucked-out as I reported the issue to the dealer just before hitting 36,000 and they replaced it under warranty.
Hope this helps.
