Default Stereo Problems ?!?!?!

Last week I had my system rebuild. Essentially I had all the speakers replaced, two 12's added, and two amps put in. I kept the stock HU, and honestly they sound great. This week I have noticed two problems. The first a bit of a whine when I accelerate. This whine comes through the speakers, so I know it is not just engine noise.

The second is a bit more severe. When I start the car thereis no music. In about 30 seconds to about 5 minutes the music will start. This is preceeded by a crackling sound. The shop is going to look at this later this week, but I would like to get other opinions before I go in.

Thanks everyone

can you pin point which speaker(s) the noise come out of strongest?
What type of equipment are you using?
How high are the gains on the amps?
I am pretty sure that it's a ground related issue, if it comes through one speaker louder then the others then it could be interference through the speaker line itself.
You could ask and see if the installers ran seperate wires to the doors when they installled the 4 channel... sometimes when you amplify the speakers through the harness behind the radio you will pick up noise...
If you are using JL amps they might be on signal sensing which is the cause for the turn on delay, this is normal.

well many things could be wrong the simple thing that more than likely is either a bad ground or they ran both the signal and power wires next to each other causing interferance. .. . .either way I would bring it back and _____

I have two Mercedes (supposedly a quality vehicle) and they both make that "whine" as you call it through the speakers when you accelerate. It's really more a whirring-whine noise. It 'rises', peaks, and falls off. It is not what you would call loud by any means, barely audible sometimes, but you can discern it. In fact, I really only hear it when I'm listening to talk radio or something similar on the radio. When I play music I don't hear it at all (volume drowns it out I guess). Also, it does not happen all the time -- not at every acceleration. Both cars have stock (but what MB calls "premium") audio systems, as is, from the factory.

It doesn't happen constantly and is hardly loud so I never saw it as a problem to be _____ed about to service.

Hey all. THanks for your help. I took my car in today and they said it was something with the voltage of the head unit. They slapped ina relay but told me that it will not sound perfect until I get a new HU. The touble now is trying to find one that has the amber coloring ofthe stock HU and has CD changer controls. If you have any advice feel free to post or pm me. Ilook forwardto any help you decideto give me.

Thanks again
