We don't have immobilizer chips. If we did, we wouldn't be able to install remote start as easy as we do. With a immobilizer, you need some type of bypass/interface to make it work. We don't need that.

the tc's have the transponder in the key, the xb doesn't.

the only way I would get one of those is if it had the keyless entry built in, otherwise you are just adding bulk and weight to your keychain.

The Autodoodad key has a built in keyless entry. I'm just wondering what frequency our alarms use. The dealer installed a KARR alarm when I bought mine, so I'm wondering what that frequency is too. I couldn't find any info on it.

I dont know about what frequency the remotes use, but you cant use a different brand remote on a different brand keyless entry/alarm.

Car alarm remotes aren't universal. You can't use a viper remote for a factory keyless entry and so on.

But why not? Is it the frequency?

You guess? No offense, but that's not a positive answer and you have no back up. I don't doubt that it couldn't work, but you can't just say it doesn't work. Back it up!

Would a Toyota remote work for a Honda Keyless Entry System. No. It won't work. I suppose its a different frequency. Since it won't work, it doesn't matter. Damn it, Im done in this topic.

To the OP and all who asked, these should work no problem. It's a TR-47 blank and that's what the xB/xA uses (as do all the stuff listed in their auction). As stated, this won't work for tC unless you bypass the transponder by taping a key under your dash or something like that.

Why won't the Toyota remote work for a Honda? What if it's the same frequency and it's programmed. Wouldn't it technically be able ot work?

Call Up your local toyota/scion dealership, tell them you want to program a chevy keyless entry remote to you car. Let them tell you that it won't work if you don't believe me.

Haha. I like how it seems like you're getting so offended. I'm just asking a simple question that needs a complicated answer. sheesh.

Exactly! Finally someone is on the same page I am. ____! Stop thinking about the brand. Think of the product itself. Like I said, there are those switchblade keys a few posts back I showed. I'm just wondering what frequency the Scion alarms are on.

when you order a blank key from scion it doesnt have a programed freq. to it. the car is the the unique part. there is a programing process you do in the car that programs the key. so it MAY be possible to program any other blank key

Yes, BUT the car can only receive certain frequencys. If you could use any remote to access any keyless entry/alarm system, why would anyone have to buy a new nissan remote fob or vw remote fob? Why are there people on ebay selling remote fobs for Porshces or VWs or Chevys? Because there is not a universal remote for car alarms.
