dunno if it will work that well. just a thought. if you want the letters to stay, try using some clear coat and spray it over the switch face where the letters are, after you stick them on.

Default Switches for Switch Panel

The letters will stay once rubbed on. In fact they are very hard to get off once applied

Just purchased my '06 PW xB and would like to thank you guys for this tip! I'm headin' to Lowes!

Think I'll run a line from the battery w/ inline fuse to power some cath. ray tubes, and ???

At least now I have the switches!

I have also purchased a three plug cig. lighter adaptor at Wally World I want to install. I can't believe the xB only has one cig. lighter input.

Still love it!

edit: dont know why the site placed this here but it was supposed to go in the tech article under switch panel.

i just found this article searching through the different tech sites and thought i'd add my pics in as well... heres the pic of my air ride switchs put in a few weeks ago. i just used a hot knife to burn though the plastic and then trimmed the melted stuff with an exacto knife

I went to Lowes yesterday (here in NH) and they didn't have the swithc. They said that they were special order. I was going to do the special order but figured I'll try a couple of places first. I was on my way home and stopped at the little True Value Hardware store and they actually had the GSW-49. They didn't carry the GSW-45 but that didn't matter. I installed 2 switches yesterday and it looks really clean. I'm using one as my reset switch for my computer in the trunk and I ran another wire to the trunk for the other switch but I still don't know what I'm going to use it for. I figured I might as well do both at the same time. Any idea's on how I can use the other switch? And is anyone using the light's on the switches?

How did you replace the whole bottom portion of the console with switches? I only had one spot for a switch in mine.

For the switches like that GSW-45 that only have two prongs, how are you guys grounding the switch?

Ok nm, switches with led/incan built-in have the third prong for ground.

Brother Office Equipment make the system called P-touch labelling system,
http://www.brother-usa.com/PTouch/
Kind of like the old Dynamo letter punch the letter into the tape but they print the lettering inside of a piece of tape. Available in several different widths and colours of tape with a choice of colours for the text. see examples down the right side of this page.
http://www.advizia.com/brother/Advis...D=1873&Rnd=749
You could get the wider tape and trim to fit label over the whole switch and then trim to fit.
The whole system is a little pricy but you never know, you might have one at the office, I know I do

When printed, the text is inside of the label so there is no chance of it wearing off.
When you look at some of the tape choices, there are several options for those with painted interiors to colour match the switch too, like white letters on the blue background, or even the gold letters on black or the blck on gold on a RS5.
Also for those who don't like the shiny finish it is also available in a matte clear.

Sorry for the long read but I saw the question asked over the four pages and the rub on labels seems like the only option mentioned.
