Default T1808 Problem??

So, I just switched out my Pioneer t1807 radio for a t1808 because I wanted to be able to do the whole ipod thing, which I have to wait anyway because because the ipod cable still has to come in.

I installed it and worked great until...I wanted to use my AUX input. Now it doesn't recognize that it is plugged into anything and won't do anything.

Is this because I need the ipod hooked up as well or do I just have a bad HU?

Did you use the aux cable from the package or another one? Try using the aux cable on ur home stereo or Walkman.

Well when I bought the car it came with the T1807 and I had to purchase a AUX cable. It works/worked fine with the previous head unit.
The ipod cable came in and I was able to hook that up with no problem, it just seems like it doesn't recognize that the aux is plugged in, so when I press the button it just goes to the Ipod.

I liked the aux input because I was able to plug my phone and be able use it hands free.

Try using the radio while it isn't screwed into the dash. Be careful not to shock yourself. I'm not responsible for any harm or destruction. Wiggle the wire harness and inputs while it is on. Also, sometimes units only recognize a device if said device's volume is above 60%. I remember that being a problem of mine a while back.

could it possibly be that the 2006 XA just isnt the same wiring as say an '08 TC?? Because I think thats where the radio shipped from.

I know this has been a while. I've just sucked it up and dealt with no AUX funtion but now its really starting to bother me. That and I had to set up a different rig for the ipod because my car didn't have the ipod input in the center console like some of the XA's do.

I don't know if it'd be worth it to get an aftermarket radio because I don't really know to much about them or possibly trade my t1808 or t1807 (which I still have) for a t1806 and hope for the best??

The Aux input is in the back and travels to the center console under the emergency break. Since I didn't have the iPod thing that goes next to the Aux, I plugged the iPod chord that I bought straight to the back and fed the wire to the empty space under the oven and cigarette lighter and it fits perfectly.

The Aux input in the back is on the top row farthest to the left. This isn't my picture but this is the Pioneer t1808 and is basically the same set up I have going with my radio with the exception of the chord next to it.

This picture is the t1807. The Aux input is in the same location, so I would think it would work...right??

I just would prefer my center console to look like this, I have the Aux just not the ipod. I haven't found the part for the right price...and now I'm thinking about searching for the t1806 but I'm still not sure.
