Default tapping into the cigarette lighter...

I tapped into my cig. lighter wire (white w/ black stripes) for power on 2 cathodes w/ a scotch connector and now my cig. lighter doesn't work. I use that for the cell phone charging.

I'm a major neophyte when when it comes to wiring, but I thought I read threads where people were tapping into this wire 2, 3, 4 times for various lighting mods. could that be true, or was I dreaming? is there a way to "piggyback" numerous wiring mods off of this one wire? how can I get my cig lighter to work again w/o losing my cathodes?

i would think you'd wanna use the fuse box instead of the 12v. If you wanna, go out to auto zone, and get a thing called mini add a fuse or mini add a circuit its called, basically taps into your fuse while providing a wire to it, all you do is hook the power wire to it and you have power, and then just ground it. Easy as pie, me and wedgiesarus just installed cold cathodes in my engine bay using this method, no splicing, just extending already existing wires and hooking it to a switch. took about an hour with all the set backs. Talk to Max2k if you need help with the 12v, thats how he did my other lights. You shouldn't have to tap into those, it's kindof a pain too
