tC Viper Alarm Question
I'm in the process of installing a Viper alarm in my tC. I was just wondering if any of you guys set one up yourself, and if so, how'd you hook up the power locks? I've done alarm & keyless entry before and ran into problems with the locks. I'd just like the avoid that if at all possible. The alarm comes with a relay pack with a few different wires on it. The wires are as follows:
---------------------------------------------------
3 Pin Plug: (coming from alarm brain)
Green (-) Lock Input
Red (+) Input for relay coils
Blue (-) Unlock input
5 Wire Harness: (need to know which wires to use)
Violet/Black Lock/Unlock Normally Open #87
Green/Black Lock Output #30
White/Black Lock Normally Closed #67A
Blue/Black Unlock Output #30
Brown/Black Unlock Normally Closed #87A
---------------------------------------------------
The tC wiring diagram I have mentions the following wires for door locks:
Function / wire color / polarity / location
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power Lock / green to blue / - / driver kick, 20 pin plug, pin 15
Power Unlcok /purple to pink (Double Pulse) / - / driver kick, 20 pin plug, pin 14
Lock Motor / blue to brown / 5wi / driver kick, gray 7 pin plug, pin 6
Unlock Motor/ pink to blue / 5wi / driver kick, gray 7 pin plug, pin 5
I just need to know which wires I connect and if I need to use any resistors for multiplexed circuits.
Thanks for your support

you don't have to use the relay pack... just cut the 3 wires between the pack and the harness plug, and use the blue and green wires like you would normally on a viper alarm... I would reccomend pulling out the red wire from that plug or at least taping it up...

use the wires five wire hareness ground the violet, use the greenw/black to the cars lock wire, use the bluew/black to cars unlock. Toyota uses negitive pulse, you might have to hit the unlock button twice to get the passenger side to unlock since it is a double pulse.

they have been giving the 451m's out with most new viper products from the 560xv and up through the 791xv's... they are mainly for use with chryslers and older fords to help installers/shops out so they don't have to waste there own relays when interfacing with these vehicles...
since toyota's and scions are a negative trigger that activates relays... you can use the standard 2 pin plug that comes with most every other alarm, or cut the harness like the diagram shows to help out with a stealthier install... one more part... one more thing to hide properly...
if you still don't understand you can install it like bill stated above... just make sure you tape off the white and brown wires... good luck
or since you aren't to far away, you can drive down and i can help you out...

Now that I'm thinking about it, I need to rig up some kind of safety switch for the remote start ... I have a 5-speed. I'm just going to keep the clutch saftey switch enabled until I can figure that one out ... any input would be grand

The reason I ask is that I read on another board that someone found some errors in that wiring diagram when they were installing a viper alarm also. But that was a while ago, maybe they have revised their diagram and everything is correct now.
