Default Tenzo Steering Wheel Installed *PICS*

I installed a TenzoR Turismo Steering Wheel, with Sparco Hub and wanted to share the Pics. I used the Sparco xB Hub, and Titanium Turismo Wheel, with a custom carbon fiber Sparco horn button/center cap.

The install was suprisingly easy. It required only a torx screwdriver to remove the airbag, and 19mm socket wrench to remove the actual steering wheel. I'll try to document the install process, if ppl are interested.

The turn-signal canceling was not affected, still works fine and the horn is just a ground switch so that was very easy to wire. Because the airbag was removed, the airbag light will come on, but if you remove the black plastic around the odometer, you can put a piece of electrical tape over the LED so the light isn't visible.

Anyways, here's the pic of it installed:

Also...Did you know there is no law in CA about removing your airbag? I spoke to a LAPD traffic officer and there's nothing specifically about airbag removal.

BTW the steering wheels go for $119 and $60 for the hub so $180 installed is not bad at all, considering most sparco steering wheels are $220 just for the wheel.

For more info on the Tenzo wheels click here.

it looks good, but I'm the kind who'd rather have the airbag, since I was in 4 accidents in my last car (which none I was at fault)...

nice install but as a caveot, "the air bag saved my life when I crashed and totalled my first xA....in fact they both deployed when I hit a fire hydrant...consider that what if before you do this,,,,this is just a customary comment....!!!

Looks good man, but as subcode mentioned, air bags are there for a reason. Unless you are making a show car that is a "trailer queen", I wouldn't recommend removing your airbag. There is a reason there is millions of dollars spent per year perfecting the "air bag" of cars. Just a thought.

As I said though, wheel looks great.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Yeah, I know that there's definately ppl who don't want to remove the airbag - a racing steering wheel is definately not for everybody...but I think that makes it even cooler to have, since not too many people have it.

Looks awsome, did the sparco horn button come with the HUB?

I think this is my next mod

lreally does look awsome.

For those that are airbag friendly. Take it for someone who s been in a horrible accident. The seatbelt will save your life, not the airbag.

One would hope that they would do their jobs together...

Bad move in my opinion...I hope you can explain to your family and friends that you wanted to look cool when your head gets smashed to pieces.

Oh well--the worst part is you didn't even get a high quality wheel, like a momo...Tenzo R?!

No, Sparco sells the horn buttons for $6 - there's a few different styles to choose from,http://sparcousa.com/psteering_acc.asp?id=381 They're kinda hard to find, if you need one let me know.
