I picked up my fog lights off ebay for 100 bucks the other day. Good deal, but no relay and no switch.

Ended up buying the xA switch, because it has a light in it, plus I like the fact that it's a push button instead of a rocker switch.

anyway, went to the junk yard in search of a relay that would work instead of spending like 60.00 bucks on one from toyota. Here is the specs you'd be searching for if you are ever in my position. and or want to use the existing wiring for after market fogs/driving lights.

toyota 4-runner 96-02, Denso relay #90987-02012. There a bunch of numbers under this, but these are the numbers you would be looking for. This relay is abundant in the 4-runner: power windows (each window), heater and some other stuff. I think I took 4 out of one spot on the rig I was plundering.

The xA switch was the problem child in this project. Having the 40.00 switch is one thing, finding the matching male plug in the junk yard took some time. Ending up finding one in a 92 Lexus sedan. The dash face was already pulled, so I have no idea what the plug was hooked to. But it's the match I needed.

Rewiring the xB for a xA switch.
Cut the xB plug off and start wiring. I think the xA was designed to have the switch lit when the regular lights are on, I opted to wire it to the relay's red wire, which is the power source for the foglights when they are on. So now the switch is lit only when the fogs are on. Then of course you will need to run a ground wire off the switch to some place local.

Easy enough, took all of an hour or so. Looks nice, other than the switch is made to only fit in the dash one way, I wanted it turned upside down from their preference, but I'll live with that.

Again, relays are abundant at the junk yard...... Our yard gave them to me free along with a pocket full of fuses... might as well get those while you are wrestling the damn relays out.
