Default UV LED's for Gauges

I'm trying to find some UV SMD's for behind the gauges. I've been searching google, and am coming close, but nothing absolute yet.
Anybody seen them?

Edit: No luck with google, however, I am in contact with a company that may make them depending on how many they will sell. If I can show them a potential wide user base for these, they hopefully will make them..

Thanks.

The key is finding them in the right output range. Most I see out there on the sites are around 20mcd. Ours (guessing from the measurements I have taken) are running approximately 200 mcd. I was particularly interested in the tri-color ones at

http://www.ledtronics.com/ds/smd-plcc/#rgb

for a project I am looking at for the gauges (tri-color means lots of cool color variations to play with), but they all have very low output, so I am still sticking with using pairs or sets of three high output LEDs to do the same thing.

****EDIT***

Actually the tri - colors have high output :D and cost less than three of the smt ones we use.... the only issue now is that I have to buy 100 of them since that is the min qty

Looks like the blue on the tri color ones is only 90 mcd though

yeah... saw that too. Not sure how well that would work. And for $480 being the min order I am not sure I will find out I can stick with my original plan of building my own "pixels" out of two or three LEDs

Good plan

I was gonna say I'll go in with you on them...I figured $150 or $200 for 100 cool LEDs would be decent between a few people....but not $480 for 100....OUCH

Default Found Supplier for UV LED for gauges

www.us.kingbright.com

I have been working with an Engineer there and he just sent me the data sheets on a UV SMD they have.

They are going to get me some samples. So as soon as I get them, I will install a few and get photos up of them.

If you can find out what the specs are, I have been looking for something like this for a different project. Most companies say you cant make UV SMD's in a true UV range affordable right now.

Cheapest UV PLCC2's I've seen have been like 4.16 each with a minimum order of 250.. their output was over 100.. but that is too much money for me, even though I have a complete UV lighting right now.

Well guys, here are the specs on these specific lights. BTW. I just received my samples today. I'll be putting them in soon.

Viewing angle 120°
Dominate Wavelength 395
The package is a PLCC type with correct dimensions for our gauges. 3.5 x 2.8 and 1.9 deep

The packaging is 1500pcs/Reel, but they are available available on tape or reel. If these work (and I only have 2 sample LED's to show for it) then I will buy a reel, and sell them

Maybe I'm missing somethng, but I thought that UV was beyond the range of visible light and would actually be harmful to your eyes... or are we talking about violet?

Also, why not get them off eBay? Are the bulbs from Topbright not compatible?

amen. I wouldn't risk damage to anyones eyes by installing these. There is enough to cause premature vision damage these days without staring into UV leds every night while driving
