Both have pretty much the same features (love the LCD screen)
Both go for around $200 on ebay
I also Checked out the compustar buy its way too much money and too much to install (so iv heared)

Compustar too much? You can usually pick them upf ro $225 or so online. Granted, unless you find a authorized installer it won't be warranted.

What sort of realistic distance are you getting?

W/ compustar, I was getting excellent ranger, but it varied very much. I was able to remote start my car from inside of a concert hall. But at the same time I couldn't remote start it standing next to the car sometimes. I guess thats one of the Compustar SS technology fall-backs eh

I have the Python 881xp ( the same as the viper) I love it.. however I do believe that Clifford is DEI also.. so either way you go you wont be disapointed.

The Clifford RS3.5, Viper 791XP, and Python 881XP are identical except for the remote and brain housing. I use the Python and I'm very satisfied.

Varies depending on what is int he way of me and my car. If its a clear shot and I can see my car, I can get it to start over a mile away. If its in an underground structure, i'd have to be on the same level as my car.

I just chose the clifford because I had one of their systems on my last car and was happy with its performance. The system was $600 installed by one of Cliffords official dealers.
