Default Viper 791xv problem

For some reason, after remote starting my car, I can't unlock/lock the doors using the remote. I get a response saying the doors are unlocked but they are not. And usually, after remoting starting the car and inserting the key in the ignition, the doors lock when I step on the brakes. That doesn't happen anymore either. The remote works when the engine is off and I can still manually unlock/lock the doors, but I want to know what is wrong. Anyone have any ideas?

I just entered and exited into valet mode it did not do anything. Valet mode prevents the system from arming, I don't have a problem with it arming or disarming. It's just that I can't unlock/lock the car when the car is on using the remote. I am really stumped...

try removing the battery from the remote control for like a minute, then put it back in and hit the lock button. Once you do that, see if unlock and lock works again.

You have to set it for a double open mode to work on Scion.

I have the same one and that is what I had to do. Since you can lock the one or all or unlock one or all.

Call DEI and they will tell you what to do

^^^ i'll look into it, but the thing is, it wasn't always like this. I've had the alarm since january and it has been working fine up until this week. I'm trying to figure out if I touched something or something went wrong.

Check the wires, bad ground...

Loose connections...

last resort, you should have a warranty on the box, replace the alarm cpu

i agree with hotwheels it seems like an install problem... most likely a loose/bad ground

if it was installed by a shop then make sure to go back to them. they will have a lifetime warranty on the install. Dont mess with any of the wires, especially if your not sure what they do.

that sucks, they must not be very carefull. I do not see how they could do that other than being very careless.
