What aftermarket speakers (not subs) did you put in your TC?
I realize I could go search through mounds of posts and find all this stuff, but I figured with the speaker size/depth in the TC being so up in the air that it would be helpful to have people post in a single thread what aftermarket speakers they have successfully installed in a Tc.
For clarity, please label what nlocation you put the speakers: I.e. CDT EF6.1 (front), Directed s550 (rear) (These are known to fit the Tc courtesy of ChefRaekwon).
Thanks. I think this will help a bunch of people (including myself) be able to shop more effectively for replacement speakers for the TC.

C'mon, nobody?
I didn't ask the same question as has been asked in these forums a million times, I just asked for what speakers have actually been found to fit in the Tc. Steock speakers are 6.3 inch fronts (1 in tweeters), 5.25 rears. But the depth has proven to be an issue for some brands of speakers (at least according to crutchfield.)
I've also learned that someone in here managed to put diamond audio 6.5 inch components in both the front and rear.

Should be plenty of info there to get you going.
There's about 4" of space in the rear and a little less in the front. You'll have to either fabricate or buy a plate to mount a standard-size speaker in the non-standard factory openings.
I believe the Crutchfield specs are mostly accurate. The limiting factor on what size speaker will fit in the tC is not the opening size, but the depth, hence you can put a larger (and deeper) speaker in the rear than in the front. A spacer will let you fit bigger speakers.

Sorry to sound like an A$$
I can't believe not one person in here has posted what speakers they've put in their car. Everyone in here seems hyped up on sharing everything else they've done to the cars. I mean, not many people have actually posted what speakers they've put in. There are tons of posts for subs, and for how to install new speakers, but hardly any where people say exactly what speakers they put in.

I completely agree. I am installing a DNX-9140 in my friends Scion TC (He is deployed in Iraq and will be back at the end of Nov.)
I am also installing that SQ10 custom box from element designs (Sub)
I would like to know what speakers to use to replace the stock ones... unfortunately I will only have 1 amp (hooked up to the Sub) So the speakers will juse get power from the DNX-9140.
might help to moe this to the tC I.C.E. thread for a little quicker response.
i'm using polk momo competition components and depth was too deep so i used mdf rings (about 1" deep) to secure it and not be too deep. if u dont want to make ur own rings or need a place to get them, contact dr isotope as he used to have them for sale

I'm using JL TR650CS with upgraded Evolution C5 silk dome tweeters. The front uses 1.25" spacers and the back is using 0.75" spacers with a custom mount for the tweeters.
Oh wait, this is for the tC, not the xB. Tagged for op to move.
