Default What do you suggest?

For anyone who has an xB and has made upgrades to their stereos, this question is for you. To get some bass pumpin from my stereo what upgrades have you done to it and where did you get it done at? Perferably somewhere in Seattle or very near. I can't stand the fact that the back speakers are so weak, and I like to bump...so I need some suggestions on doing a lil' something that will improve the overall base I get out of my stereo. I'm not necessairly looking to buy a new stereo, but more or less adding some speakers, sub woofer, etc. that will make the back sound better, something cost efficient too. Any suggestions?

I'm contemplating selling my sub box.... w/2 12" subs.... just need an amp and wiring kit...... check my profile for pics.... as for a place to get it done?? i dunno... everything has been DIY for me... but your right the speakers could use help.... especially if you add a sub or something...

also sound deadening helps some too...kills outside road noise etc....

lol...was just a thought....for some extra boom.....
but yeah good set of after market compents should help tons ( i have yet to make that upgrade)... and there are several people/shops onsite that make custom boxes to fit subs in the place of the storage trays in the back, under seat or other locations...
check the ICE section for ideas on brands etc... or places to purchase items..... but as for installl work.. like i said.. DIY

Although I don't have an xB ... my twin 10" and amp (1000w) will thump.

lol...again that is a bit over the top for what I'm asking about. I don't need to make old ladies collapse on the side of the road as their hearts can't take the thumping of my system. Just some that will add a little boost to what I already have.

Get an underseat 8" with a small amp and the adapter/connector to give the bass output from the stock head unit. It will vibrate your seat with out hurting the old ladies.

My guess would be because you are dealing exclusively with ICE.

Plus, your question was:

For anyone who has an xB and has made upgrades to their stereos, this question is for you. To get some bass pumpin from my stereo what upgrades have you done to it and where did you get it done at?

Seems that you're asking everyone for opinions.

As far as a shop goes, I'd check out your phone book and go into them yourself. Much better to see what they're capable of in person.

I have a 4 channel amp. I upgraded the rears to take some power, and have an audioformz enclosure and a Memphis 10" The amp hits 400 W RMS.

The system will bump far more than I need it to, and having the rears at an audible level fills everything out very nicely. Plus the Audioformz keeps everything nice and clean.

and then following that I said perferably in Seattle or very near....clear indication of the area that I was referring to which is why I felt it was relevant to post under the pac. nw forum. The reason why I said anyone is that I wanted all those in the Seattle area who has done this type of change to their system to let me know where they got it done and what they did, so that way I would know first hand who could do it and how good they are. Sure I could simply search around and find places, but that doesn't mean they do quality work, or that I would necessairly find the best place or deal, that's why I ask consumers and not salesmen. You're right, it does deal with ICE, as far as exclusively I would have to disagree. The point of the post was to see where in Seattle I could go that people have experience with their xB being worked on for this need.

Let me clarify myself so there is no further confusion. I am not responding to be a pain in the butt or anything, I just wanted it to be clear my sole purpose in my post. Maybe it wasn't as clear to others as it was to me, but I feel I explained myself accurately and that my post was meant to go where it originally started.

Well, on SL, if you're asking for opinions on ICE, it'll end up on ICE. It's just the way it's organized. Regional sections are more for clubs/meets/region specific news. As you asked about ICE, a mod moved it here

And as far as going into a shop and asking, most reputable shops should have portfolios of their work for you to examine. That and if you're just putting in a sub/sub amp, I'd highly suggest doing it yourself if you have time. It's a very rewarding experience.

I've never let anyone touch a single car I've owned for ICE installation, always done myself, but then again, I enjoy being able to say that I did the work to my car myself

I was contemplating a sub, and still might but I went with new speaakers
and an amp and are very happy.
I got infinity componants up front and coax in the back, powered by a
4 channel eclipse amp. The sound is great with much more bass.
The speakers were installed at the Car Toys sale/show in Seattle. the
amp was done by myself with the help of fellow Xber Jason429.
Everything is hidden, so it looks like stock.
