PIAA is the king of bulbs, and Luminics are nice too. I have both for sale.

For bulbs, I like Mtecs.

If you're interested in a retro-fit, I have a friend that sells the retro kits for several vehicles, I'll see what he gets for his kits (and yes, they're great quality, I believe he even has an online site).

PIAA Super Plasma GT-X That's what I use. Very expensive but very bright and excellent quality.

the 1000 price tag i included was also taking into account buying a new set of headlights... you could obvisiously save a good chunk by using your current set but most people cant go without their car

basically the breakdown works like this

ballasts 150-200 a set
bulbs - 60
labor - 250-300
projectors (dependant on choice) 200-300
wiring harness- 50
new headlights - 350
misc shipping - 50

those are just basic estimates ... sometimes you can get deals to lower the price

but thats to give you an idea of what you should expect when you jump into a full on projector retrofit

I guess the $150 I spent for the 4 PIAA bulbs doesn't seem so bad after looking at some of these prices.

well there is a HUGE difference between PIAA replacement bulbs and a full oem projector retrofit

so you cant look at it like that when it comes to price

Good breakdown, the price I paid of 800 included new headlights also. I'm not trying to prove you wrong or anything, it's just that people always ask how much I paid for the retrofit.

I can get the retro fit kist muuuuuuch cheaper than that. I've got a group buy intereset thread up right now. The more that are interested, the cheaper it'll get, obviously. I can do 5000k right out for $325, and 6000k for $335. But remember, the more people that want it, the better pricing gets.

we are not taking about cheap taiwan made hid KITS .. we are talking about retrofitting OEM hid projectors and components into the stock headlamps

I paid 800 plus shipping. I bought them off a fellow SL member, Iceking66. I guess I got them so cheap because I waited him out. Last November he was on here asking for 1000+. Then in February he came back with 800 so I jumped on it.
