wiring questions
im gonna put a sub and amp in my xa. ive done it on other cars with after market stereos plenty of times before but not with a head unit like this. anyone know of any tutorials? the search up top is not getting my anything at all with any keyword. i need to know where to wire the amp
The power and ground connections are typical for any and every car. Run a decent gauge wire directly to the battery for 12V, use an in-line fuse as close to the battery terminal as possible. Run the same gauge wire as a ground. Connect the ground as close to frame as possible. Keep the ground as short as possible.
For your remote wire, you just need a 12V ACC connection. You can even tap into a 12V connection and wire up a switch.
For your inputs, you will want to use a Line Output Converter or LOC. These are readily available at any stereo shop. They convert speaker inputs to RCAs. From there, you would just need to run your RCAs to the amplifier inputs.
Wire your sub using good quality 14 or 12 gauge speaker wire. Remember, higher thread count = less resistance = greater final output.
...hope this helps. Good luck!
