I took my rear speakers out with a screwdriver, because rear speakers are worthless.

Is this for an xA? Because for the xA, all the speakers are rivited in.

I changed out all my speakers last weekend. You first have to remove the door panel. Here's the link to how (https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...067&highlight=). Afterwards, you have to drill out the rivets, and the speaker will come out. However, when you install the new speakers, you will need a new bracket to fit Toyota's "great design". You will need the this adaptor (http://www.cardomain.com/item/SCOSAT6). It comes in a pair.

As for removing the stock deck, remove the three environment control *****. They just pull out. Behind them, there are three screws. Remove those. Pull off the side silver accents. Once you remove those, there are screws behind that. Remove them. Afterwards, you can pull off the whole center console area and unscrew out the stock deck. I think there's a tutorial or FAQ of that somewhere here in the forum.

Thanks for the info itz. I'll give it a go this weekend. Can't wait to see how bad my car rattles with the ol' stereo in it

What deck and speakers are you putting in?

The fronts are decent, the backs are worthless, but if your changing the speakers, my suggestion is change them all.
