I have been looking into HIDs for my xA. While the best solution would be to get projectors, I don't think want to spend close to 1k for a full retrofit. At the same time however, I do not want to endanger others on the road by recklessly blinding them. Here is what I am currently considering after doing some research on the forums and such. I have a friend who can get the prolumen kit for 250 out the door. However, this kit does not come with any sort of glare shield. Instead of getting a rebased H4 kit, I am considering getting a glare shield along with a D2R HID kit. I have also read that some have painted this glare shield with a matte, high temperature black paint so that it will absorb even more light. Has anyone ever tried this approach to reduce glare? I know that it won't be possible to eliminate 100% of the glare, but perhaps most of it? Opinions and experiences are welcome, thanks! If I do end up doing this, I will certainly post pictures.
