xA Navigation System. What's the best for me? Please help!
I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on which navigation system I should purchase and install on my 06 Scion xA.
I have been looking at the Pioneer AVIC-D3 or having Scion install the new SNS inside. I'd rather by the Avic-d3 because of the price but I'm worried about the following:
1. Won't fit properly in dash.
2. Won't work with steering wheel controls.
3. Won't work with existing ipod connector.
If you can help, or make suggestion on other systems, please help!
Thanks!

The D3...
1. WILL fit in your dash with a proper mounting kit.
2. WILL work with your steering wheel controls with a steering wheel interface from PAC
3. WILL integrate with iPod, just may not be via stock iPod connector. You can easily run the iPod interface cable wherever you would like it to be located.
If you like the D3, then don't let these issues turn you away from it.

Pretty much what he said. If you use a different headunit, you will not be able to use the existing ipod connection (not without some major modification) but you can hide the new one in the glovebox pretty easily.
With the right kit, the HU will fit fine.
Most do require an adapter for the steering controls. I've heard the Eclipse headunits will mate with steering just fine.
The D3 is a pretty sweet, unit, but the iPod navigation is a little annoying.

I would suggest the Kenwood DNX7100 or the Alpine W205 w/Blackbird Navigation, and a Peripheral Steering Wheel control integration and iPod cable.
The Kenwood works great, everything is built into it just need iPod cable, and you only have to ground the parking brake wire to the regular ground for DVD while driving.
The Alpine unit has the Alpine Blackbird dock inside of it and everything is on the W205 screen. That way, if you need navigation when you are in another car, not yours, you can pull it from internal dock and you have a handheld GPS unit.
iPod integration is great on both of these units as well. Plug the iPod in, place it in the glove box, and browse on the units screen. Both are full speed and the iPod charges while plugged in. They also will fit fine into your car.
