I am trying to install a DEI python alarm in my new 06 xb. My question is do I need to use a relay, the dei 451m module, or can i just use the low current outputs directly from the alarm unit to drive the unlock/lock keyless function? I think that i can just use the low current outputs since my xb already has keyless, so the stock keyless would take the low current signal and switch the lock actuators, but i am unsure.

I have only installed keyless systems in vehicles that didnt already have that option installed.

I am just about positive that you don't need a relay for the (un)lock feature. The only relay I recall from my install is for the starter kill. I got all my info for my install at www.the12volt.com. You should probably double check there.

No relays will be required for locks. Depending on which alarm you chose, the only relay you wil need is for the starter kill like cjastacio stated. If its a higher end python unit, everything should be built into the unit

They are right have two xb's and i put my owne alarm in both no relays!
