Default XB RS 3.0 Stock Alpine HU questions

Has anyone wired an amp to the stock head unit? If so, how did you wire the remote to the hu? I pulled the head unit out with a 12v tester on hand and all that I found was the ignition and constant power outs. Maybe I'm missing something or I just have to install a switch.

I am too having problems wiring up my Tsunami Line Output converter along with the remote wire as well.

I don't know what wires behind the HU to tap into. I tried searching around but everyone seems to only have interest in the Standard Pioneer headunits.

I can't find the RS3.0 Alpine Diagram.

Ok. well... I got everything working.

The Tsunami Line Output Converter is now connected to the rear right speaker and than to the amp. Power is working fine. Everything else fine... Except...

I could tell the problem is coming from the Remote wire cause as soon as I hooked up the power cable the Amp suddenly went on. I hooked up the remote wire to a yellow/blue wire in the back of the "Alpine RS3.0" HU but it doesnt work... I'm going to probably try the grey wire as soon as I recover from 2-3 hours of stress and frustration trying to find all info on this HU. Btw this is my first time dealing with an Audio setup... I'm more of a "Go" than "Show" kind of driver.

If you can't find any diagrams online, here is one surefire way. Whip out your trusty DMM. NOT a test light. Leave all your wiring connected. Power up the head unit, switch it to an inactive source, i.e. AUX. Back probe all the wires on all the connectors. Look for battery voltage. 12-14V depending on if car is on or not. Then turn the head unit off. Does the power go away? If so, then you have a switched battery power, which you can tap into and use as a remote. However, since you can't be sure what circuit you are tapping into, I would use a relay to power the remote. This gives you the added benefit of safeguarding your HU should your amp blow.

Yeah, that seems kinda typical. Thanks for the tip.

Once I find out what wire will work, I'll let everyone else on here know which wire works so no one gets themselfves in a hassle like I did.

Ok, found out that the Remote wire should hookup to the Grey wire on the Blue harness...

Hey just too let you all know that there will be a problem with the remote line i just installed an amp and a crossover and there was not enough voltage for this youll have to install a relay to turn this on very easy I installed a schosce hi low audio control x over and swiss audio 6 channel amp. Also for you info youll need too use a four or five or 6 channel amp and have to use 2 2 channel converters or one 4 channel converter for amplifing your whole system. I found that if you dont youll not beale too use dual mode for your video. If you have any question please feel free to email me. I have the wire diagrams and relay diagrams.

I just finished my amp & sub install today on my RS3.

This is the unit that www.norcalscion.com sells on eBay. It is easy to install and gives you a set of RCA outputs for a sub!

I saw it too. It's most likely a programmer's connector.

the problem is not the xbox , a lot or RS 3's are having the same problem .

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=136560

you need to call scion and file a complaint , see above thread there's a #
at the end ..

there are 3 in DFW area that i know have the same problem .. mine work fine at times

if you use just one at a time it always works but turn on both and its a gamble
