Default XB RS 3.0 Stock Alpine Speakers

After spending days going thru speaker, HU and power related posts, I cannot find an answer.

My Question

Can the OEM stock alpine speakers be amp'ed or should I replace them and amp the new ones? I know the HU has no preamp connection, so I would just amp the speakers. But this HU is severely underpowered for my taste and from what I have read in previous posts

I have installed a sub and amp and it helped by taking the bass drain out of the stock speakers, but still want more power for my mids and highs for the style of music I listen to (Hard Rock & Metal)

This is a great site and source for scion info, hope I can get an answer

Thanks, from a very happy newbie scion owner

IMO, if you want to amp them, get new speakers and THEN amp them. I don't know what the wattage of the speakers are in the RS3, but you'll likely have more room to work with (between speakers and amps) if you get some aftermarket ones.

actually I answered my own question yesterday
I went out and bought another amp and amped the stock alpine speakers
I got a pioneer quad channel with 600 watts
The alpines handle it fine, it is smokin!
