Default xB Warning Lights: Engine, VSC and TRAC OFF

Yesterday, seemingly random, my Engine, VSC and TRAC OFF lights all came on while I was driving; pretty much simultaneously.

I've seen a few threads about this problem before. The xB is running fine and not idling rough, so I'm ruling out the MAF sensor.

I did just install an amp and sub into my car. I don't believe that is a factor though because i did the installation over 2 weeks. One day I pulled the power cable through the firewall and the car was fine. So probably no damage to other wires. Next week I ran the RCA from the HU. Car was fine. Final week, amp installed and fuse put into the power cable. 2 days later these lights come on.

I noticed that after I took the front seats out, the Airbag light came on. I rechecked the molex connectors under the seat and it went off.

I know there is an ECU reboot by pulling the fuse, I just wanted to see if that solves this problem before I take it to the dealer and they point out at my amp and all that.

Thanks for any help and or personal experiences you can share.

did you recently get gas? it could be due to a loose gas cap we has an xb come in same lights on and it was the gas cap im not sure if it was faulty or just hadn't been put on properly but that was the culprit.

take it to autozone or schucks and get them to read the code for you so you know what the problem is before you "reset" the ecu.

No, no gas. But I can check the cap for secureness.

I'd rather just reset the ECU than take it to one of those places and have to pay $50 for some guy to tell me I need to pay more to have it further inspected.

Besides, if there was a real problem with any of those systems, an ECU reboot wouldn't clear it because the lights should be activated again. Not trying to be a smart @$$, just trying to think it through.

Happened to me twice in a 2 month period, both times it was the "Vapor Lock" Code, I'd say take it to a dealer get the code read, that way if you need something done (more major) you're already there.

Default Update: Lights went off

No more indicator lights. After starting up my car a few times during my daily commutes the lights went off. If it happens again, its going to the dealer...man that is some weirdness. Car still rides fine!

Please run a search next time before posting a new thread. this has been covered countless times. The present thinking is that because these three lights come on for quite a few different engine codes, you must know the code, before the solution can be identified. Short story: check the codes. you have not posted enough information.

Sorry for cluttering the board. I did run a search and didn't find what I wanted immediately.

In the past, the tech section has been kind to me. Perhaps there's a way of classifying all these CEL related threads under a "subthread" of xa/xb ICE?
