Default XBOX install in XB

Just wondering if anyone has installed an xbox in their xb? I was thinking of doing this instead of a dvd player and using it to play movies/game/and stored music files. Does anyone think this would work ok or is it a dumb idea? I know that you would need the dvd kit and have to use the remote, but it would be cool to use it to play the music/dvds. Please let me know if you have donethis or think itcould work. Thanks

i'm not sure. there was a thread a while back about if they would skip or not. its pretty straight forward. all you need is a power inverter for the box and a fm modulator for the sound.

I'm thinking of this. If I were u I would check on doing this with a modded xbox. I have one with a 200gb hard drive and I have like 60 or so games on it now and still have about 40gb left for more stuff. It's not that hard to mod one just read up on it.

yeah, I did this, bought the xBox and a 5" lcd screen from best buy while on a trip to make the boy happy. figured it this way, for 250 I could have a little dvd player, for 300 I could have that plus a gaming system and a remote. It worked fine too, doesn't skip. it's a PITA to reach the dvd though, but I just threw it under the seat for the trip. I've already removed it rather than have someone bust our 1K worth of windows for the $100 screen.

I was wondering was there another option for plugging the power cord to the car. Right now I am running the Kenwood DDX and since the rear passenger is using my xbox to play dvds and view them from the friont screen while the head unit is playing a cd and the audio is seperated for front and rear passenger. Well I bought one of those things that you plug into the lighter outlet which then you plug the xbox into that is there any product or mod kind of like the toyota matrix where there is a direct AC plug built into the dash that is directly connected to the batterey.
Thanks
