Default XM reception

I have a skyfi2 in my car and was wondering if I completely disconnected the FM radio if the sound through the modulator would be clearer? I really have no use for FM reception anymore.
Thanks

Default let us see your installation

How 'bout a pic of your skyfi installation? Did you put the "hockey puc" on your sheet metal or did you find a work around?
I really don't want to stick the black blob on my car. Has anyone here done a window mount antenna? I have heard that they can fall off. Is that true?

On my XB, i mounted the antenna on the driver's side rear left corner, above the window. The new XM antennas are much smaller than before and barely noticeable. I mounted the Skyfi2 receiver right behind the steering wheel, since the XB has no instrument panel there...really easy to use and i can keep an eye on the sports ticker. If you buy one of the new delphi car kits, the antenna is a big as a quarter and maybe a quarter inch high

Thanks for your information. I know the new antenna is small, I've checked it out. Even though small I think it is a little blob I prefer not to put on my car. Also I "know" that if and when technology changes or if I want to take the antenna off my car for some other reason that the finish will be messed up if the antenna is removed. Your receiver installation sounds nice. I was considering stashing a cradle in my glove box if I can work out the antenna issue.
Are you aware of any advantage of your Skyfi2 over the Skyfi (or Roady) other than the "memory" feature?
Further question: Anyone get the home-audio kit? How is your indoor reception with the provided antenna?

The built in FM modulator is nice, as is the scrolling sports scores, "jump" button feature and 30 presets. This is my first XM unit and i am happy with it. The antenna should not mess up the finish being that it is magnetic and has 4 small rubber feet.

I have thr home audio kit and I have to have the antenna near a south facing window to get good reception.
