Default Xmax subwoofer kings? Need some opinions and thoughts.......

Alright fellas,
I know xmax is not a clear indication of the quality and overall performance of a sub but it's still cool to see a sub that has a hell of a long throw....
Here are a couple that I know of right now....

RE XXX ======== 32mm (one way)
Death Penalty === 38mm (one way)
JL W7 ========= 38mm (one way 3" peak to peak)
Phoenix Elite ==== 38mm (one way 3" peak to peak)
MTX 9500 ====== 25.5mm (one way2" peak to peak)
IDMAX ======== 24mm (one way)

If anyone has anymore specs it would be appreciated.
I'd like to get a long list of speakers and their rated xmax.
Please let me know.
!! No need to bash on this thread and tell everyone that xmax doesn't mean a thing. I've heard all of that before and I'm getting sick of people writing essays to explain their opinion. If you don't have xmax specs of a sub and want to post a reply that's cool but show us some xmaximus!!

If I am incorrect on any of the above mentioned subs just correct me. I kind of pulled all of those out of my head from the research I have done in the past.
Layte,
Austin

Default Rockford list

p2 12 = 11 mm
p3 d2 12 = 12 mm

T1 d2 12 = 3 Inches
T2 d2 12 = 3 inches

Team RF 12 LXursion, not noted but for the price better damn well be over 3.5 inches.

I remember back a few years ago when Ground Zero first came out with massive Xmax woffers, now my p2 10 comes close to the same spl with half the xmax

The new RE subwoofer. Double digit Xmax, starts with a 4. That's all I can say for now...

The JL 13w7 is the highest excursion of the w7's, and that only comes in @ 32mm one way, not 38mm.

The Death Penalty is 38mm peak to peak, not one way.

Wow your suck a punk.....Why would you even tease like that...

What does the MT have xmax wise?

I'm waiting for a top name like RE or JL to come out with a 50.8 xmax....
A 4" peak to peak with great SQL.....
That would be awesome....

Not teasing, honest!

Why do you want a 50mm XMax? It's not necessarily going to make you produce more sound or be louder, trust me. And a sub like that will take one hell of alot of power to really shine, and I mean alot! Not to mention all of the space from your front seats back to do it right!

And, just so you know, there's going to be alot of work to create an enclosure that can handle the pressure produced by the new RE monster Sub. It's not for the faint at heart, but as always, you can always bet on RE to raise the bar.

Kind Regards,
Matt

So your a "why guy" huh Matt?
I tend to lean to being more toward the why not guy....
To tell you the truth you I could find a speaker with an xmax of 12mm that could out perform a xxx in everyway I would go for it.
I'm saying that if a speaker was produced that could handle a 4" peak to peak linear excursion that would be a sight.....

Why did Audiobahn make the 32" monster? Something unique and different.....kind of like why I bought a scion.....

Why not....
76.2xmax (one way)
Why not.....That would be ridiclous but wouldn't it be a sight to see....

The JL 13w7 is the highest excursion of the w7's, and that only comes in @ 32mm one way, not 38mm.

The Death Penalty is 38mm peak to peak, not one way.
Thanks for clearing that up bro, I saw a clip of the Death Penalty subs and I didn't see anything special about them. I hate when companies rate their equipment different than others. Aren't there industry standards?

Not a why or why not guy, just asking.

Yea, a 50mm excursion would be a sight to see. There are some subs getting close to that, but most subs that big are going for pure SPL of course and they would not be used for music. You can make alot of subs excurt, but no matter how big or small they are, once they come out of the magnetic gap it's trouble.

Sorry to hear you seem to not like the XXX. I'm sure if you ever get to own one and install it into your Scion you would be very impressed at it's production. That's why they are the hot item, because they do more than they claim to, and it's because of the BL curve, and not the Xmax.

Kind Regards,
Matt

Man I learn stuff everyday.....
I don't even know what a BL cruve is......
One day I'll be the king though.....
I have heard nothing but good things about RE and expecially the XXX. So I would never doubt them....
Did you see that truck with like 8 or 10 XXX12's?
It's on that link I posted....
The whole vehicle was straight flexin....

Sorry I pulled the 3 inches out of the RF dealer book and the 'Real Bass' book. With the 'real Bass' book Also listed in the RF site, I tend to take manuf. #'s over some third party that hired a 12 yr old to do the web site data entry.

Think I posted it, but don't forget about what I will label for you as the "Superwoofer" from RE. It's Xmax is above any on that list, although it is not yet into production.

You might also check into the new DD 10000 woofer. It's touted to have quite the Xmax as well, although I am not familiar with it's exact rating.

Kind Regards,
Matt

I tried researching the DD10000 but no luck.

Good news fellas. I went out and obtained my business license so now I can resale car audio and acessories!
I'm so excited.....

Popa,

It is a sure thing, I'm just allowed to say only so much. Just wanted you to know to keep it under consideration since the Xmax parameter seems to be the most important to you, that's all.

Kind Regards,
Matt

Oh, and don't forget to add the RFL152 to your list. 4.35 inches of excursion, but absolutely not for anything other than serious competition.
