I can tell you from do this sort of mod on other cars, usually the best place for your volt meter, is your cigarette lighter power and ground. That is, if the lighter is switched with the key switch. You don't want it powered at all times. Using the lighter gets you out of running wires directly to the battery and not having to find a hole through the firewall.
Also the oil pressure sender is located below the intake manifold and near the knock sensor. It looks like it might be a pain to get to. You'll probably have to replace it with one that will let you use both the factory idiot light, and the gauge itself. Thats the best way. I haven't found the proper sending unit for oil pressure yet. And good luck getting to it.
The same goes for the water temp. Plus with that, you got to also worry about the little blue light that comes on when cold. Your water temp sender is tied into the ECM and the transmission. So watch out when buying the sending unit for this one.

I think Minsk99 did a full gauge install -- search the forums for his posts.
But from my research the most convenient way to do the oil pressure sensor is with the Greddy oil filter adapter or something similar (again several people have used this, search forums).
