Default a couple of air ride questions

Can a water trap be mounted sideways or does it have to be mounted with the drain plug facing downward?

I want to add a water trap to my setup, but my tank and compressor are under the car and if the trap has to be mounted with the plug downward it will scrape the ground.

Also, does anyone have any experience with the Air Zenith compressor?

I am wodering how it compares to Viair compressors as far as loudness, fill time, reliability, etc.

Thanks for any help.

I don't think it matters, i am curious about this tho, it was a question i forgot to ask in my post. I just mounted mine downward cause it made sense, but i'd like to know if it matters.

I also mounted it downwards cause when i empty the water out, i purge the system and unscrew the cup and dump it out, pressing the drain plug will make a mess inside the car

Btw, the link to your xB in your sig doesn't work.

i'd say the water trap should be mounted with the drain plug down - you can mount the trap anywhere you want between the compressor and the tank - just run some air line (lead air hose) between it- im coming up with a very VERY easy to use tank drain - i'll post up pretty soon (gonna hook it up tomorrow?)

I have read a couple of reviews and it is definately a great compressor, kind of on the big side.

1.24CFM at 140PSI vs a Viair 550 .092 @ 140PSI

1 AZ is almost as fast as 2 450's

89 db Air Zenith where as a 380c is about 83 db

(all info 'borrowed' from s10forum.com)

I don't have any personal experience with the AZ compressor, but have a friend who does. He absolutely loves his. He switched over from Viair 450s. They are quite a bit more expensive that Viair 450 and 400, but significantly out perform them.
