yeah, i dont mind it so much right now. the stereo kind of drowns it out right now. but i've had friends say how loud it is sitting in the back seat. we'll see. maybe down the line i'll see about having that done.

I don't know. I guess just call AAA and have them tow me back to the shop.

got pics of the flipped mount?
and what exactly did you flip? the upper bearing?
that thing is pressed together, if you flip it, the weight of the car will push the bearing out.

Hey Randy, I'm going on the information given to me by the guy at Universal Air. The upper strut was flipped and another bearing added between the upper bag plate and the stock upper strut mount.

Here's a couple of pics:

Two other guys out here have done it. One over a year ago and they have reported no problems with the upper bearing. I know it's not the way you would do it, but I don't have your talent! Your Box ROCKS!!!!!!

I'm not trying to flame, but this could be a safety issue.
Whats going to stop the weight of the car from pressing the bearing out? There is nothing here to stop it.

oops sorry, forgot to answer that one for you. it rides nice man. when you've got just the right amount of air in the bags it almost feels like your floating down the freeway. it handles nice too. i had df210s before these and the bags seem to handle better.

I understand what you're saying. I've checked with several guys who have done this over a year ago and they have experienced no problems with the bearing. I have not had a chance to verify it with the parts guys at Scion but I was told that the bearing is not removable from the upper strut mount. That doesn't sound right to me so I wanted to check on it.

I've drawn out plans to raise the strut tower but have no skills in the fabrication department.

If anyone reading this thread has heard of this bearing popping out please post up.

Does look close Ray. I wish I could get the same drop in the front that you have without flipping the strut mounts. I have a few other routes to go and Randy thinks the flip is a bad idea. I respect his opinion mucho grande on this subject so I'm hoping to find another way. Are you using the prebuilt strut bags?
