Default Help install springs Chicago Area? Xa

Hey I could really use some help to install some progress springs in my 2006 Scion Xa in the Chicago area. I've called around some shops and they are serious tax to install. It's crazy like $600 and up. Anyways I read thru the instructions on here and if I had a garage with a floor jack, jack stands and 1 other person that knows what they are doing, that would be great...just seeing if I can get this done much cheaper than $600.

PM me, I got the right person that will hook you up for cheap. He lives by Naperville, not that far from Chicago. He helped me with my Tein SSPs and installed my girls spring for her. Price will probably be under 100.

all you have to do is go to walmart, get the jack and jack stand set (about $40) and jack it up, unbolt the shocks in the rear and your axel will swing down allowing you to do the rear springs (i dont even have to take my rear tires off). then unbolt the struts, go to your local tire kingdom or neighborhood tire center and have them swap out the springs on the struts (about $30) then go back to your house and throw the struts back in your car and youre done.

then if you dont need them, you can box the jack and jack stands back up and take them back to walmart for your $40 back

all in all you could get this done by yourself in about 2-3 hours (being your first time and the trip to the tire center) and it should cost you under $50 if you decide to take the jack and jack stands back.

doing it yourself will also give you a great sense of accomplishment and you definitely will appreciate it and give yourself a pat on the back when youre done.

just follow the instructions in the tech section and if you have any questions you can PM me, i have put one set of springs in my box and then coilovers, and have done the springs in my girlfriends box, i can get it done in about 30 to 45 mins now, these cars are so easy to drop, dont blow your money having someone else do it.

Thanks for all the replies. I got it sorted, my cousin's husband is going to help me for the price a bottle of jack and a dinner. Going to do the shocks as well. While I'm sure I could probably do this myself, I know having someone there in that knows cars a bit will be a big help.

Yea, if I had a better garage to work in, I would've done it for a pizza and some beer.
