Default I think my Xb handles better than my Mustang GT did!

I traded a 2003 Mustang GT for my box a few months ago. I have an 06 RS and I added a rear anti-roll bar.

I didn't want to spend lots of cash on tires (Mustang cost $1000 per year for tires) so I opted for the stock tires on aluminum rims.

Now for the fun part:

There's this one turn on the way to my house.... 90 degrees to the left onto a narrow street. In the GT, I would confortably hit this at 35-40MPH. In the Xb, I'm starting to notice I can get thru it at 42MPH very easily.

I start the turn under throtttle at about 4000 RPM's. At the apex, I chop (come off) the throttle (5-speed BTW) and the back end gets a bit loose. Almost immediately, I get back on the gas hard to pull me thru and stop the drift.

Turn done....on cheap, skinny tires.

That's cool..........

Cool, but now we know why it costs $1000/yr for tires.

Kumho MX - 205/50/15 ... 72 bucks each. I'll get a set of these in the spring. You can get three sets of these for less than a grand.

I have a 2004 Kia Sorrento that drives way better than my XB. My 05 XB is the car that I love but I have had a few cars that drive a lot better than the XB.

When done right the xB will out handle most other cars because of the low center of gravity. I love taking those 25 mph cloverleafs at 50 plus. Also watching other cars try to keep up with me in the twisties. I always loose them.
