KYB GR-2 Gas Shock Absorbers -- ride improved
I had KYB GR-2 Gas Shocks installed (KYB part number 343295-- for a 2000-2002 Echo) on xB with a stock suspension. The KYB shocks are a little more expensive than Monroe Sensa-Tracs. The KYBs were recommended alternative to Monroe Sensa-Trac by a trusted local shop owner who has had better comments with KYBs on Japan and German cars. The ride is greatly improved. Well worth the expense.
The shop owner had never been in an xB and took the xB for a test drive when they were installed. He felt the drive was great with the KYB GR-2s (and loved the xB experience).

I don't know if you are aware or not, but the stock shocks in the rear of the xB are KYB from the factory. They might not be the GR-2 model, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were just a slightly taller version of what you just purchased. That is of course, unless Toyota requested special dampening rates be designed into the stock xB shocks.
