looking into gettin tein h techs 1inch drop springs, sport max 501s 15x8 +15 offset on 225/50/15s any comments or opinions. also maybe a 10mm rear shim. thanks.

You might get some rubbing with the 10mm spacers. I haven't seen anyone use such a wide tire on them either.

damn using a 10 mm rear shim is pushin it with 15+ offset and a 225, and h techs could still have you riding high, coilovers you can adjust the height to make it look right

Go with a 5 mm spacer and for a tire 195/50. You should be alright. With the h techs you will still have alot of wheel well gap.

i dont want the stretched look or knowing i have a tire to narrow for the wheel. i think the added gap of the h techs will help with the wider tire. ne 1 else?

that's the exact set up I'm thinking about... would the tire height of the 225/50/15 be the same as stock regarding speedometer? Has anybody actually tried 225s on the 501s? Would I have to roll the fenders?

Speedo wise you'll be fine. I think they will stick out too far. Maybe a 30mm offset up front and 15mm out back to keep them looking right?

just stagger the tires 205 in the front and 225 in the rear. i think ur right tho on the front tires sticking out. hum.... i guess stretched 205s it is.

this is going to be a stupid question, but if you put different size on the back, you can't rotate them can you? Don't radials have to be rotated front to back... not left to right, so that they maintain the same direction? Also, what happens to the ride quality with stretched tires? 205s on an 8" rim would be a pretty minimal stretch, I wouldn't think it would make much difference.

As long as you had uni-directional tires you could just rotate them from side to side and keep the more offset wheels on the back. It would also look better with the deeper dish wheels on the rear.

so what do u think then of the same +15 offset wheel front and back on 205/55s. still use a 10mm rear spacer?

15 offset up front will stick out too far. use like 35 offset upfront and 15 for the rear without the need of spacers.

Those 501s sit pretty flush up front with a +15 I wouldn't call it sticking out. It's still too far out for my tastes though

ive seen a few pics of +15 in front and +5 in rear with spacers i like the flush look. but wanted to stay away from stretching. owell. cant win em all

Im running 225 in the rear on a 16x7 Rota Sub-Zero with 40offset. No rubbing but your 15 offset might become an issue. Im also lowered on TEIN S-Techs....
