hotbox: what size tires do you think? I just bought a set of the DR20's and have a 205/50/15 i'm going to stick on there.
Any good?

Thanks!

eh it's a little too small . but only by about half an inch.

i'm gonna rock 215/50's on my dr20's when i get them.

but i like a meaty tire. if i wanna stretch i'm not gonna use a 205 on a 7.5 but a 215 on my 9 inch looks good.

Default tooooooo dang low

had to raise it baq up like about an inch. i was was sraping all over the place. at times just normal driving in certain places. but mainly malls and when i take my gf to the doctor. the seven story parking structure kills me. it a sharp 25% incline. lucky if i get to park on the first floor. drop it later when the roads are fixed. roads are in the process of being repaved. the point of fresh asphalt to cut up asphalt is like a quick three inch drop. and i can't just stop in the middle of a 45 zone.

up to you what size rim. i like the JDM looks so i went small 15 or 16s. or you like the CALI look. than go big. 17-20s or sumtin

also want to extend my studs. know where i can get sum?

you need to reindex torsion bars so they stay away from the body when low, and you can order longer studs from arp.

I was wondering how long it would be until you raised it up. I have to admit, I chuckled to myself when you posted "daily driven." Something pretty easy to say the day you install the drop.

Post some new pix of how it sits now. To sit as low as you were and drive it daily, you would either not drive much, or not care about your car.

Default smarty pants

what ever you guys call them.... anti-sway bars/sway bar/roll bar/what evers.

was daily driven for at least three days... did drive it about that low like for about two months on my cut springs though.

it's night now so the camera flash will make it look off. will take it in the morning.

I don't consider three days daily driven. I was lower than a 6/8 drop on 18s on my Dakota for a couple of years. How low does that make it? All I had to do was stab the throttle and let off to drag frame and throw sparks. Something only a select few bagged xBs can even do.

And that truck was driven everywhere. To NorCal, across the grapevine to the LA, San Diego and the California Desert. That truck with that drop was by far the best handling vehicle I have ever owned. Including the wife's xB and my current daily driver '98 Prelude SH.

mang... cuz you in da mainland... i drive for only five minutes and i'm already half way around the island already... just waiting for this super farrie thing to come out so i can go to the other islands to cruise with other scion-ners.

here is the raise pics, notice the baci is higher too in a droop. and a picture of when i was running my steelies with cut springs. that was daily driven for a good while. i guess my daily driven and your daily driven is different. lolz.

Default finished

oh yea i tweaked last night and did this. i ground up the extra non important part of the chassis to clear the bar. sprayed it with 4 coats of rust proofing and than black paint. this was done below the welds and did not interfere the with function of the chassis in any way. don't believe me, just do and feel it yourselves...

Default just note

just note that when you grinding. you only have about half an inch to work with. and it's not going to be a straight weld. it kinna curves down. thats why you don't see the cut straight to the back. i used a dremel with the snake tube, reinforced cutting wheel and the grinding disc to smooth it out. gotta use the reinforced cutting bit or you'll be cutting all day long. was gonna use my high speed industrial grinder but it's too scary. no speed control and was too big. might cut the lines, but you can use what ever suits you peeps.
