The Rear shocks are just now starting to leak enough that it's time to replace them. They did well for 186K miles!!!
Replace with originals or something from rockauto (Monroe or FCS)?
This is a low mileage, sits in the driveway a lot car
For not much more you can get KYBs, which is the route I'd go if I didn't have a full KW Variant 2 set of coilovers and shocks that I've had in a box for donkey's years waiting to be installed.
Never heard of FCS and I don't think Monroes are what they used to be and now you're just paying more for the name recognition.
Thanks. I did see that Monroe stuff is not what it used to be. The price is tempting though but there is likely a reason for that.
I see Rockauto does carry KYB shocks and I found the top rubber bits & shroud they need in another spot
Thanks for upselling me - these are very likely to go on in the near future, before it gets really warm here - 107 this weekend
What the heck???
EDIT:
This is caused by a lawsuit filed by AZ state DOR against Rockauto. They want to claim back taxes (& penalties) before the 2019 decision that internet companies had to collect taxes for states parts were delivered to.
AZDOR lost the first trial, then won the appeal and so it has gone to the AZ supreme court.
Rockauto is fighting this and so they have stopped shipping to AZ in the meantime.
I'm with Rockauto on this. Claiming back taxes and penalties from a time before the law was enacted just seems unfair.

Reason: Found out why Rockauto can't ship to AZ
Well... ended up going with the Monroe OESpectrum shocks as they had built in dust covers and were available from Parts Geek.
They came with no instructions and no instructions on the Monroe website either.
It turned out to be a fairly straightforward installation, but there was time spent deciding how to replicate the upper mount with the new parts and then how tight to squeeze the rubber top mounts. I think we have it about right?? If the top mounts come loose, the locknut can be tightened.
