i have a friend who has a wholesale license or business license not sure exactly what its called but gets it at this price. i think i am going to order it for my car first (04 maxima) and install it and then we are going to do my brothers box. i think i am going to use my oem struts but out of curiousity, say the strut does fail, how will i know it is bad, say i am driving when it happens, what will happen.

or how much are the struts that universal sells. what would you do rton20s if this was your setup? stick to oem or get universal struts. is there any other company that sells struts for us? also was looking into getting digital guages but was looking at universal's website as seen they have the dakota difital guages but it doesn't have too much info on these. what are the features with these guages or is there another brand of digital guages you recommend that are good. thanks.

If your strut fails you can usually tell because your ride will get really "floaty." The air springs will still work fine, but the dampeners in the strut won't be doing anything. A good way to know is to push down hard on the front fender and then let go. If it takes forever to stop bouncing, you need new struts.

Now, if it was my personal car, and I had never done air suspension before I would probably go with the Airlift / Easystreet kit. I would also order up a cheap set of camber bolts for the front suspension just in case.

Dakota Digital is where it is at when it comes to digital air management. Hands down the nicest stuff out there. Shop aroound though, you may be able to find better prices. Then again, if your buddy has a resellers license, he may be able to hook you up. For more information on the Dakota Digital stuff just follow the link.

If you have any other questions, just ask.

ok well i looked at the guages, damn, they are expensive but hopefully with his resale license he will be able to get it for half that and as far as installation i am going to have my friend install it who can get me the kit as well. i should be asking him all of these questions considering hes done a lot of air installs at the shop he works at but he is really hard to get a hold of considering that he is always working, that shop he works at is ridiculous, they do fully custom work and charge an arm and a leg for everything they do but their waitlist to get your car in the shop is still like 1 to 2 months. crazy. luckily he is doing mine on the side on a weekend he has off in like 3 weeks. he recommends the universal kit a lot but wanted to get a second opinion from a broader group. thanks rton20s and everyone else who has responded.

EasyStreet's digital air management with the manifold valves looks good too.

There is nothing on the market that touches Dakota Digital. Airlift's stuff is nice, but if I am going to pay for digital, it will be from Dakota.

No bags on the wife's xB.

Contracted with a big name air suspension guy to do most of the work on my Dakota. (He used to do all the design for Airlift/Easystreet.) Never again. Turned into a bad experience. The work was great, but the work ethic was not.

All future installs whether bolt on, or full custom will be done by myself and my brother. Since mine I have contributed to mutliple installs, if not completed them myself.

I have the Universal Air Suspension kit on my Box and for the most part it's cool. I had to do a lot more modifications than I expected. The rear mounts are not as good as others on the market and I will be replacing them soon. If you don't want to spend a good amount of time altering your stock struts, spend the extra bucks and get their Koni's. I am now looking into the Dakota air management system and I belive that will make the kit much easier to use. Without it you have to play with the switches too much.

Here are some pics of the Box after the install (which I did with the help of a couple of friends, none of us had done a kit before)

Well In my Personal experiance the Best solution I found for the front of our cars, are the AIM/ChassisTech Struts.

Belive me I have had it all on the front, EAI Cans, The Easy street struts, The universal air bags, with aftermarket struts. and 2 different sets of AIM struts. (Adjustable Bag, Adjustable Clevis)

Right now I have the adjustable Clevis one on, and a 32 way adjustable strut.

Now I have another issue which is another thread all together.

I flipped my upper strut mounts and gained a little more drop. I have few more things I can do and I believe I will be able to get the front lip on the ground.
