I have heard of xB owners running 14". They do clear the calipers on the xA so I imagine it would on the xB... almost the same car.

Honda Civic seems to be one of the best options. Just search for cars with 4x100 bolt pattern.

What I did was Search Craigslist for "14 wheels" or "14 tires". Most people don't know if it is 4x100 bolt pattern. Usually they say, "came off of a Corolla."

Then I would Google search "Corolla bolt pattern" and I easily could see if it was 4x100 or not.

Hello,
I was looking to do something similar, but rather 15's, like stock, just wider so I can get meatier tires on it. Any suggestions?

Yes and Yes.

I've had old school civic 14" steels on winter tires, they clear the calipers no problem.

I also have a set of Ford escort 15x6" steelies et30 I think. I wanted to find a low offset 15" steelies and that was the best I could find. Makes sense though as 4x100 15" steelies are meant for FWD cars and factory rims won't come in huge offset in north american market. With the only exception of VW golf/jetta steelies that have about et20 back in the day but they usually cost more than a new set of XXR or other budget rims.

No point paying more for a set of rusted old steelies in my book...

There was a few years ago a place that would make steelies any width and offset you wanted. I guess there wasn't enough business and they quit.
You could however still get wide steel wheels made for oval track imports with the 4X100 bolt circle. Check out Summit and other places that sell race car stuff.

as said before, anything 4x100 will fit. anything from the civic (pre 2006, not sure what the new bolt pattern is) to mini coopers.

Well, I got tired of the 17" with 40 series tires and just went back to stock 15's with stock 185/60-15 tires until I can find a cheap source for whitewalls. Calli Tire & Wheel in Sacramento is working on a custom whitewall.....

Those older civic alloy 14" wheels, might be a 14X6 size.
Finding something "stock" OEM, that is also "wide" is going to be a rarity. At that point, you would probably be better off getting something aftermarket.

I wish that widened steelie place was still in business.
