Any issues (rubbing, performance, etc) with running 215/45-17 tires on a non-lowered xB? I have been running 215/40-17 and would like to move to a little more sidewall.

I have had minimal rubbing issues on the inner plastic over the years now. That is with 3 different sets of wheels, all with the same offset and all with 215/45R17 tires. I would think that with a stock suspension you should be fine.

215/45-17 Falken Ziex 512 on Motegi 17x7, 42 offset = no issues.

Different brands of tires vary slightly in size. Closest point is on the rear swing arm, I have about 1/8" clearance between tire and arm.

Rubbing? No, but performance and mileage...now thats a different story.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Tell me more about the performance and fuel economy hit, is it drastic?

My wheels are 17x7 with a 38mm offset.
