Am I just STUPID?
Okay. Need new stock tires. Cheap ones. I need them put on the car. Shouldn't be that difficult...RIGHT? So what am I doing wrong?
I can't find the right size. Well, I *can,* but I'm not paying any more than $60 a tire, because they're 15" stock, for God's sake, and I'm a cheap bastard. I am not spending more on my xB than I did on my 2x-bigger Blazer. Ideal goal is under $250 for the four of them. Don't laugh, the last three times I bought tires I never even came close to $300.
I can find tires online, but I can't find anybody local who'll put them on without incurring massive shipping and installation costs. Wal-Mart has them, but their website was apparently programmed by retarded howler monkeys, because it keeps crashing at the "place the order" stage, and their call center is DEFINITELY staffed by retarded howler monkeys, because after three calls nobody can actually get the stupid tires on a stupid truck. After all this...stupid...there's no WAY I'm letting these people touch my car.
I have checked every tire place in town (this is Chicago...there's a lot of town) and searched all over these boards, and can't find squat. Apparently I'm the only owner of this $15,000 cars who's a cheap bastard.
PLEASE, SOMEONE TELL ME WHERE TO GO! Help teh stoopid nooB!
I'm at 31K on the stock goodyears! I don't have much time left!
that's all thanks

Have you tried TireRack.com? I got a set of 215/45/17" for less than $60 a peice. I'm sure you can find 15" for the same. I think they have a clearance section. Cause my 17" were on cleanance.
Here you go:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...=9&RunFlat=All
Several at or less than $60.
If you don't mind going to a 185/65-15 (stock size on the bB):
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...=8&RunFlat=All
LOTS of them WAY less than $60 ($41.00!!??).
And TireRack.com is probably the most knowledgeable, professional, and easy to work with outfit I've ever used. I've gotten maybe 20? sets of tires from them over the years.
I've yet to have a problem finding someone to mount and balance tires that I bring in off the street. I have found that the smaller shops are a lot cheaper when you do, though. It's almost as if the big guys (Discount, Big O, etc.) are nailing you for not getting the tires from them. Just call around to see who has the best price, and if you're just running steelies, make sure you tell them, because most shops charge more for alloys.
Good luck!
