Default Any problems with 19's

Just finished talking with the tire and wheel guy from tire country. He has some great stuff for Scions. He asked about clearance problems with the 19" and 20". Has anyone heard anything like this.

I am not sure if anyone up here has 19's or 20's.....yet.

I have 18's, and the only clearance problem that I have was the rims hitting the lower control arm in the rear. Although, I suppose that's what I get for running 18x9. I am running a 1/2 inch spacer in the rear, and will have to get my fenders rolled.

Fronts are 18x8, and they clear just fine, lock to lock. I know this probably doesn't anser your questions, but hey, if anyone asks about 18's, then you'll be able to tell them.

We just installed the 19" TRD wheels on a lava with the TRD shocks and springs for a customer. He said the only thing he has noticed is at full lock there is a very slight rub.

Alot of SE guys are running 19" rims ... here are some pix of them... i haven't heard any rubbing complaint yet. Most are using 215/35/19 or 225/35/19 wheels.

here are some pix of 19"

19" wheels will have little to no problem. You should look here https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=348

20" from what I've read requires some modifications are required (cut cut), but I'm sure with some of the new 20x7.5 with a 30 series tire there shouldn't be much problem.

Also all depends on how much the car is lowered. In the Seattle Area I really advise against going lower than 2", I'd even say 1.5" drop on a daily driver will cause problems and make the car suffer.

Personally I hope to eventually pick up some coilovers, so I can have a city driving height and a track & or show height.

I have been running Falken Torque Five's in 19" with 38 offset and not a single rub. I have also 2" drop springs. 215x35x19 tire.
