Best 205-50-16 tire
So i've ordered 16in rims. They are 6.5in wide. I am looking for a QUIET tire with nice grip and good wet traction. I drive mostly around SoCal area. Are Toyo Proxes4 good? Pirelli Nero, Dunlop DZ101, Sport Maxx? Please post your opinions. I drive normally most of the time, but want to know that i can play around canyons once in awhile. Thanks!
Tires are a personal preference thing. I personally hated my Toyo Proxies 5 and would never buy another set.
I've owned Cooper, Dunlop, Falken, Firestone, GoodYear, Kuhmo, Nokian, Nankang (<--stay away), Toyo, and Yokohama. (Never owned a set of Michelins, actually)
I currently have Yokohama AVS ES100s and I love them. Best tire I ever had. They are a true summer tire, so no good in snow, but in SoCal, you won't have to worry. If you're looking for great grip and good wet traction, do consider these. However, they are a bit noisy. Then again, I don't hear it much over the exhaust and the coarse pavement out here.
$83 a tire at Tire Rack.

Yeah, i cant really afford those Michelins- @ about $160 per tire. I had a feeling they are the best thing out there for all around hi-perf street.
Surprised to hear negative opinion about Toyo Proxes.
