Mine is lowered. Do I need this? Is it really good for making the tires last longer? How/why is it better?

the question should be do you actually NEED it? there's no sense in buying it if you don't need it or you don't like the look & style of a cambered out stance.
another question to consider is How low you plan to drop the car? if it's EXTREME lowering then, yes, you'll probably need one. if only a mild drop, then something to keep in mind. also, keep in mind the toe settings.
get the car dropped. take it to a GOOD alignment shop that preferably deals with lowered cars and see what the alignment specs say. if it needs one, get one. if it doesn't and they can knock it back to or close enough to stock specs then you just saved $$.

Mine was lowered by the girl that owned it before me. I have no Idea Who or how she went about it. I just know that the springs are not cut. They are yellow however.
