Customizing Stock Rims
Hello,
I decided to just keep my rims stock, but I want to paint them like these... RSL19 Concept Pro. Any suggestions on where or how to do them?
http://images.google.com/images?q=rs...cept+pro&hl=en
Also, I want to add thicker tires to them instead of using the stock tires, which are thin because they're "performance". Is that possible? I want thicker tires so that my ride wouldn't feel so much of the road.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Powdercoating is probably your only option to get a tough/resiliant paint job on stock wheels. There are a few posts of individuals who have done this modification.
There are also posts which state that powdercoating may weaken the stock wheels, due to the heat they're exposed to, which I'm not sure of.
The one thing I do know is that to get them to come out looking more than just "backyard painted", you'll probably spend more money than it's really worth for the OEM wheels

I'm actually powdercoating my wheels soon. I just googled powder coating and my city and found a place that will do it for 150 for all 4 wheels. I figure thats much better than dishing out 1500+ for better wheels.
I travel for my job and started wearing out my 18"s real quick...so I decided to run my steelies for work and swapback for meets and shows....
I put chrome trim rings on them and bought chrome lug nuts..looks OLD SCHOOL Hot Rod style (no pics yet) looks cool !!!!
