Default Diamond Racing 15X8 et15 pics and do I need a spacer to clear the caliper?

Just picked a used set of these up off craiglist. They have some 195/45s on them. I am hoping there is another person that can show me how much poke I will get with this combo, I don't care what wheel just want to know how they will fit the wheel wells. I am hoping that they sit flush with the wheel wells to avoid and camber adjustments. I will be installing these when the Raceland coilovers go on, hopefully next week. I also read that some folks have caliper clearance issues in the front and I want to know the smallest spacer I can get to help with this. I do plan on adding new brake pads during the install so the calipers will be fully extended.

Only way to know unless someone has that exact same setup is to put them on and see if they touch the caliper.

Pick up a couple small spacers from the local vatozone, pepboys, or your local store. Try wheels on, if you need the spacers, you already have them. If you dont, return them.

I get it, if you want to see if something works try it, but I live 35 minutes from the nearest store that might carry them, if I didn't need them then I would have to drive 35 minutes back and deal with the people that work there to get a refund, potentially wasting an hour and a half.

I assumed that someone here has actually ran a set of these wheels and could save me some time, isn't that purpose of a forum like this, to help each other out and share knowledge? Not trying to be a jerk, but really, you just tell me to try it how is that helpful?

I finally got around to installing the Raceland kit and Diamond Racing wheels. I can finally confirm the need for a spacer in the front, looks like 10mm will work. I went to three national auto parts stores and they all only carry the universal doorman 1/4" spacers, all were asking $9.99 for one or vatozone wanted $17.99 for two. I used these universal pot metal spacers before, they are hard to center and never fit correctly. Add the poor fitment, cheap pot metal to the fact that I don't thin 1/4 will be enough to clear the caliper and two would make things too dangerous I decided to look for an alternative.

Looking for 10mm spacers I came across two types:

No studs:

Studs included:

This makes even more questions.

Assuming that the ones with studs are longer.....

  1. Can I install the studs in my garage with basic tools or do I need to have them pressed in?
  2. Do I need to remove the hub to install the new studs?
  3. Do I really need longer studs with a 10mm spacer?

Another concern I have is will the 10mm spacer make the wheel poke too much? It would be ideal if there someone has a similar 15X8 Et 15 package and could tell me what they did so I do not have to reinvent the wheel here (no pun intended)

You need to check out ClubxB.com. still plenty of active gen 1s over there, and an entire wheel fitment thread to answer all your questions.

Not sure if you've completed this or not, but to answer your stud/spacer question; no, you do not need any special tools to get he studs into the spacer...just an open ended lug nut. Put a stud in the spacer, then screw down a lug nut with the flat side facing the spacer. The lugnut will pull the stud into the spacer, and the flat face of the nut will prevent the spacer from getting reamed out. Just make sure that you have the studs pulled completely into the spacer before using them.

*you may want to use a flat washer to make sure the nut doesn't grind into the spacer when you seat the studs.
