Got the 18 in rims with a 42 offset, is this the right?

that will work its not "correct" by any means. That again, it purely subjective. Some people will say the +42 is "correct" others will say a lower offset such as a +32 or +25 is "correct" whatevers is your budget and what you like is the way to go.

Yes, SCIONARA, you are right. Now only if I can find such wheels without going bankrupt... I found Fondmetal 17 X 7.5 with 35offset on Discount Tire Direct web, but their stock is not good....

I think the only way to mount on a wheel is either by getting as flush to the outside fender as possible or going beyond that to where the wheel sticks out considerably from the body (if you've got flares or want that mexican style look - not trying to take a stab at the hispanic community).
If by some godforsaken reason, you want the outside of the wheel to be as far inside the fender as possible, go with a high 40 offset.
I think what most people dont realize however, is that a proper offset isn't affected by wheel height so much as it is than with wheel width.

People should see what routes other folks have taken to modifying their cars, and then decide which style they like, and then try to emulate that style (while incorporating some of their own original ideas and concepts). In the case of the Scions, you've got TONS of Japanese web sites to look to for inspiration, and their cars are modified every which way, so people really should browse through those sites for a bit, see what they think looks good, and then go from there...

Dam im confused I thought a 42 offset would put the tire and rim close to the fender well.... HELP... I dont want the sunk in look I like them close to the fender without hitting.... Also if I get the 42 witch I already ordered Can I correct the problem by spacers so that it will be flush? thanks

ET42 (assuming it is a 7½" width) will tuck underneath all around. By getting a wheel that is ET42 or 42 offset, it means that the backpad of the wheel is 42mm closer to the face of the wheel from the center line. This is why a wheel with a lower offset will push the wheel face further out.

Spacers
If you do decide to run spacers, I'd go with H&R's. Definately use some custom hubcentric spacers with either supplied longer studs or built in studs of the spacer is thick enough. If you just use a generic spacer, then keep in mind that however thick the spacer is, that's how much left your lug nuts have to keep your wheels from flying off when you're on the road. Generally not a good idea. If your wheel has a 7.5 inch width and a 42 offset, you'll probably want a 7mm spacer in the front to make it a 35 offset, and a 17mm spacer in the rear to make it a 25 offset to get flush with the fenders. Now, by going aggressive like that, of you lower the car, you may need to roll your fenders, etc. etc. for clearance.
