Interested in widened steelies?
I have been looking for info on widening my steelies for that euro look and I hit the jackpot.
I found a place that can widen wheels. You ship them your steelies and they cut the centers out of them and weld them into wider rims or sleeves.
They are making me a set of steelies....
Fronts 15x8" 5.25" backspacing or about 20mm offset
Rears 15x8" 4.5" backspacing or about 0-5mm offset
The cost to make these is $105 per wheel plus $47.50 for powdercoating.
And the link.

Have you not seen any of my other posts?!
I can save you money! Get them from http://www.custombuiltsteelwheels.com. This is a local company, and I can personally vouch for their work. Same quality of wheels as the Stockton wheels at a lower cost. The cost for a 15x8 is $80 and a custom offset is only $5 more! Standard backspace is 5.5". And this if for a BRAND NEW WHEEL.
That means no paying shipping to get your stocks out here, and no time waiting on them to return.
The same shop does chroming, and there are tons of powder coaters around here. I am sure he could get you a great deal on the powder coating as well. Shipping would be about the same as Stockton is only about 3 hours North of here.

Why is it that none of these places make a 15x9? They all make a 15x8 and a 15x10, but not a 15x9.
Also, what is the stock backspacing on a Scion whee -- 5.5"?
I know you can keep the OEM backspacing but have a big-ol' lip. I guess you'd just get a wider wheel, but with OEM backspacing in that case.

Well, I want to check out custombuiltsteelwheels.com but their site loads slower than I have ever seen a site load before.
Does anyone know their phone number so I can just call them?

I PM'd the info to Ctruss, but I will post it here as well.

The companies actual name is Wheels of Steel and they are located in Visalia, CA only a few blocks from where I work. The local phone number is 559-627-2703. Their toll free number is 1-800-638-3992. They are open Mon-Fri from 9 am to 5p PST.
They have FWD steel wheels in sizes from 14x6 to 16x6 with the widest being a 15x10. The standard backspace for a 15x8 is 5.5" or about +25 offset. The cost is $80 a wheel in a standard finish and custom offsets are an additional $5 a wheel. The shop also does chroming, so they can chrome the wheels as well. There are several powder coating shops in the area, so I am sure custom colors could be arranged if you were interested.
And to the question about 15x9. No one really makes a standard 15x9 hoop for a steel wheel. This doesn't mean that it is impossible, just that it would be more expensive. Two hoops would have to be cut and welded back together to form the 9" hoop. I am sure if you asked Jeff at Wheels of Steel he could give you a quote.
