am prob. getting the racing hart cx multipiece. dont know what size. Question: to get excessive lip on a box what width do i need and what offset. also would like it to be flush with fender.

note: would like maybe 17",18" and with no terrible rubbing problems .

thanks you guys are the greatest

You mentioned at the top of the thread that you want your car to look like a bB. If you're going for that "JDM" look, I would recommend a staggered wheel fitment. (If you've seen any of the bB bibles, you'll see that most of them are) For example, take the bB that Fabulous uses in their advertisements... This bB is running a staggered wheel fitment of: F=18x8.5 +18mm Offset, R=18x9.5 +18mm Offset.

Now keep in mind that you can't just slap these on and start crusin. When you're running a wheel fitment like that (especially in the rear) you'll need to "roll" the fenders to prevent rubbing and better accomodate a wider wheel. And depending on how extreme you want to go, you may also need to use camber plates to gain a little more clearence.

Van? Jay? Feel free to join in!

Peace,
m@

Actually it's not necessary to have a huge lip... rather they like a perfect fitment... This would be a flush set up with some camber in front and even the rear. If you notice there are few bB's with wheels over 18"... it's just overkill for a K car. Take a look at Matt's car and you'll see what an almost stoich fitment looks like (minus the camber til he gets his coils/camber plates up front)... you'll often find stretch tire a must because they try to cram as much width in there as possible.

But yes... LIP IS NICE!!!

Well, big lips and/or dished spokes are a good indication of a wide wheel, and I've never known anyone to think that a wide wheel on any car looks bad! Maybe on a land speed record car that needs to run super narrow airplane tires or something... but wide wheels/tires have always been an indication of sportiness as far as aesthetics are concerned. And really, wider wheels/tires do give you more grip overall too, so they serve a function beyond just looks...

so maybe you guys could answer my question. say for instance the wheel i want only comes 18x8 or 18x8.5 with 25mm offset as the least. will the wheels be flush with the fender? will i need to roll the fender? also and most importantly will these wheels even fit and if so what size spacer will be needed. i plan on getting the goldline springs so take into consideration a 2" drop.

:?: with the camber plates on doesnt that wear the tires out unevenly? doesnt seem to be good for tires.

also i am really not looking for anything funky looking like that and also this will be a daily driver.

thanks for any helpful imput

Default here comes the addiction to detail

before you get to much into what tire, I would ask you what look are you going for ? There are several in Japan that are distinct from each other, depending how nuts you wanna go with this... there is Sporty, Euro, VIP, American even... then when you have a theme going run with it, and get the appropriate rims...
